1. Who we are
Sport.Sequi is operated by Michael Day, trading as Sequi.Net, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.
Location:
Alton, Hampshire, United Kingdom
Contact:
info@sequi.net
For the purposes of UK data-protection law, Michael Day trading as Sequi.Net is the controller of personal information processed directly by Sport.Sequi.
2. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you use the Sport.Sequi application, its home-screen widget and related Sport.Sequi services.
Sport.Sequi is designed to require very little personal information.
You do not need to create a Sport.Sequi account to use the app.
3. Information stored on your device
Sport.Sequi stores information locally on your device so that the app and widget can operate according to your preferences.
This may include:
- sports, teams, competitions or event feeds you have selected;
- the order in which you choose to display them;
- appearance and text-size preferences;
- cached fixture and event information; and
- other settings necessary to operate the app and widget.
This information normally remains on your device until you change the relevant setting, clear Sport.Sequi's application data or uninstall the app.
4. Information processed when you use Sport.Sequi
When Sport.Sequi communicates with its servers, normal technical information associated with an internet request may be processed. This may include:
- your IP address;
- the date and time of the request;
- the requested Sport.Sequi service or feed;
- technical request and response information; and
- diagnostic or security information if a request fails.
This information is used to deliver Sport.Sequi, maintain service reliability, diagnose faults, prevent abuse and protect the security of the service.
A request may indicate which Sport.Sequi feed is being requested. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.
Sports-data sources are normally accessed by the Sport.Sequi backend rather than directly by your device.
5. Free and paid access
Sport.Sequi provides a free level of access and may also offer optional paid subscription access to additional functionality.
Paid subscriptions are purchased through Google Play on Android or the Apple App Store on iOS, using the marketplace's own payment and in-app purchase systems.
Google or Apple handles the actual payment transaction.
Sport.Sequi does not receive or store your full payment-card details or your Google or Apple account password.
To provide, verify and restore paid access, Sport.Sequi may process information supplied by Google or Apple such as:
- a purchase token or transaction identifier;
- the subscription or product identifier;
- entitlement status;
- purchase, renewal or expiry information;
- cancellation, grace-period or billing-retry status; and
- information required to verify that a valid subscription exists.
This information is used only where reasonably necessary to provide paid features, restore purchases, deal with refunds or billing problems, prevent misuse and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Google and Apple process payment and marketplace account information under their own privacy policies and terms.
6. Information we do not use
Sport.Sequi does not currently:
- operate its own user-account system;
- sell personal information;
- use personal information for targeted advertising;
- include advertising SDKs;
- request or use precise GPS location;
- access your contacts, photographs, microphone or camera; or
- use personal information for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
If these practices materially change, this Privacy Policy and the relevant marketplace privacy disclosures will be updated.
7. Service providers
Sport.Sequi uses third-party providers where necessary to operate the service.
Cloudflare provides infrastructure used to deliver Sport.Sequi's backend and websites and may process technical network and security information when your device communicates with Sport.Sequi.
Google provides Google Play distribution and subscription services for Android users.
Apple provides App Store distribution and In-App Purchase subscription services for iOS users.
Sport.Sequi also obtains sports schedule information from third-party and open-data providers. Those requests are normally made by Sport.Sequi's servers rather than directly by your device.
Sport.Sequi does not provide its sports-data sources with your payment details or a Sport.Sequi user profile.
We do not sell personal information to sports-data providers or advertisers.
8. Why we process information
Where UK data-protection law applies, Sport.Sequi processes personal information only where an appropriate lawful basis exists.
Purchase and entitlement information is processed where necessary to provide the subscription service you have requested.
Limited technical and security information is processed where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, maintaining and protecting Sport.Sequi, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Information may also be retained or processed where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. How long we keep information
We apply the following retention periods:
Information stored locally on your device remains there until you change the relevant setting, clear Sport.Sequi's app data or uninstall the app.
Ordinary Sport.Sequi server diagnostic and request logs are retained through Cloudflare's normal Workers logging service for no more than 7 days. Information specifically extracted because of a security incident or technical investigation may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary to investigate and resolve that particular matter.
Subscription entitlement information is retained while it is required to verify or provide your subscription. Information that is no longer required for entitlement purposes is deleted or reduced where reasonably practicable.
Minimal transaction, accounting, refund, fraud-prevention or dispute records may be retained for up to 6 years where reasonably necessary for tax, accounting, contractual or legal purposes.
General enquiries and ordinary correspondence sent to info@sequi.net will normally be deleted within 12 months after the enquiry has been resolved. Correspondence relating to a purchase, complaint, legal claim or dispute may be retained for up to 6 years where reasonably necessary.
Google, Apple, Cloudflare and other independent service providers may retain information under their own legal obligations and retention policies.
We periodically review retained personal information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer required.
10. Security
Sport.Sequi uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled by the service.
Communication between the app and Sport.Sequi services uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to backend systems and service credentials is restricted.
Sport.Sequi is intentionally designed to collect and retain limited amounts of personal information.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
11. International processing
Some providers used by Sport.Sequi operate internationally and may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, Sport.Sequi relies on applicable adequacy arrangements or other appropriate safeguards provided by us or the relevant service provider.
12. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights including the right to:
- access personal information held about you;
- ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
- ask for information to be erased in applicable circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing; and
- receive certain information in portable form where that right applies.
Not every right applies to every type of processing.
To exercise a privacy right or ask how Sport.Sequi handles your information, contact:
Because Sport.Sequi does not operate its own conventional user-account system, some technical information may not be capable of being associated with you after identifying information has been deleted or separated from it.
If you are in the United Kingdom and remain unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Sport.Sequi, its suppliers, applicable law or our processing practices change.
The current version will be available at:
The latest revision date will be shown at the top of the page.
Where required, we will take reasonable steps to draw material privacy changes to users' attention.
